That's the name!! My granny used to make it, but nobody could remember what it was called or what was in it.. Now I'll get to make my own - thank you for this pst, TAPS!!

No sauerkraut in it.  It is mashed potatoes, cooked cabbage or kale, and little green onions.  Cook the green things together until tender and then add them to creamy mashed potatoes.

Sounds good to me as well. I'm part Irish ( on my mother's side ) but have never heard of Colcannon before. Just one question . . . do I have to sing while I'm eating?

i never tried corned beef and cabbage even before i became a vegetarian....but i will still be putting on the green tomorrow..
