Annicita

I hope you'll manage to escape from there, but I'm afraid you'll find toxic people everywhere! Only the people on Blogit are nice - mostly...

Re: Remove yourself from TOXIC people!

am looking for new work...in the meantime getting ready to epublish several books....

i think i have you on faves if not i will add you and read the story...some people dont like to read lengthy entries....so best to divide it into several entries so that they dont feel like they need to skip your page....thats what i try to do....

Remove yourself from TOXIC people!
Wow, 21 comments for you. I never see that many anywhere else. Yesterday I had only one comment on a new entry. And the person stated
I had 'too many pages'. Do you know what that could mean? I have you on my favorites list. Word of advice: Don't work around toxic people. Life too short. I have .32cents this month. Hoorah! The first money I have ever made for writing, lol.

My biggest problem is time. I would love to read and comment on just about everyone's blog, but time will just not permit it! I read what I can when I can ( as I'm sure everyone else does as well ). We're still here . . . !

i agree kabu....maybe we should start giving blogit suggestions on what to do bring more readers and hence more revenue not only for them but also for us

Trouble is I have lots of things to do in a day and I love being in daily

contact with all my friends so sometimes I just run out of blog allocated time to read everything posted that day. More needs to be explained to new bloggers about making friends and yes I don't think that the powers that are advertise enough. Everything is linked to face book these days and perhaps they shoufld have a fee for readers only. There is so much fun here between us all other non writers could have a great read.

I do feel that there is more that Blogit can do to advertise the website. It'll be interesting to see how things pick up as fall gets colder and winter comes along.

A I have seen more comments when one just says Boo! It is just that when someone posts so many at once, one travels to the next and so on meaning out of politeness to answer and then one becomes confused. I think if someone comments on one's work it means the commenter likes a reply. This is not very often forthcoming (I know you do.)

Actually I think we are paid for clicks, so some folk like to read and pass on and that is OK. Please accept this as a reply to your previous writes  which I did read and tried to explain why you may have had so few comments. As to the photos one does have to keep deleting after 50 unless you want to pay a higher tariff. I suppose this organisation is trying to keep afloat. Sadly I can't see how. It is unigue because it is by its own standards it comprises of quality members.

I really think you would make a better pay out if you were in more categories. Many people only stop by once a day. Like I said the other day, you would do well for your self in humor.

You are lucky to get so many responses to your job inquiries, Seattle is a little big for my taste but its in a beautiful part of the country and they do get cold

There are sites that require commenting

and even set a minimum requirement on the length of comments.

That's a bit too tyrannical for my taste.  Here, it is a choice, to read and comment,  and not an obligation, though it is a... well, let's not say even a courtesy, but a generosity.  It is community. And it helps build your pool of readers.  There is the Calling Card, too, for when you have no comment, but want to let someone know you came by. Some people disable that, because they somehow see a problem in that.

We are not all here for the same things: not everyone wants actual critique of their writing.  I don't offer it, unless someone specifically requests it, because far more people take umbrage than appreciate it, and I'm not here to hurt feelings, or step on toes. I didn't know until I read this that you want such critique. As you might see on my Prompts blog sidebar, I had an idea about that.  (That blog's reader number, by the way, has not changed in weeks, though I have added things from time to time. The fact is, evolving as a writer is not why most people are here.)

I believe the photo limit is not for the blogs, but for the gallery that we have access to here.  But I suggest asking the Blogit Team over in the Community section where they answer questions.  Or send them an email.  They answer. Anyway, I solve a few problems by posting a link to my Flickr photo account, to allow people to visit there and see all the photos they can stand to look at.

That does sound like time to seek another job - life has a way of letting us know when it's time to go.

I know what you mean about the comments and visits, my time is pretty much non-existent at the moment and I only really have time to return visits (on the logic that any friends who have posted will have popped in to say hello) and I will often read 2 or 3 posts but only have time and energy to comment once.  I do feel that there are fewer active readers at the moment though

I have not been commenting much lately due to a crazy schedule..

After a nearly 10 year membership here, I've learned readership and comments cycle from light to busy and then back round again...:) Lately though, Blogit seems to declining in membership - maybe the sluggish economy and the plethora of free sites. I joined writing.com and did get some responses, but they were few and far between.
On Blogit, four or five comments is considered a slow day, on the other site people were lucky to get one a day! And you do have a chance here of recouping your money and beyond to a point of actually earning a profit, though it does take a lot of time commenting.
Good Luck with the job situation - toxic work is bad for you!
