The first victims...

In any political campaign are the facts.

I'm not sure I can take two more months of all this.   I'll be so glad when it is over and we can get on with whatever is coming next....

Re: I agree about being informed... however, plenty of voters slack off,

and prefer to let others do their homework for them.

But I'm afraid  I don't believe that by living by our principles--which is how I define integrity--we can expect the same from others. We can hope... and be the role models we hope others to take some guidance from. But there will always be those more willing to accept lies than face uncomfortable truths.

It is especially difficult when there are, in fact, many truths out there, and we have to choose the best, or even, the least worst among them.

As long as we keep accepting lies, they will keep telling lies. We must live by our principles if we expect them to. The truth is out there, and if we are informed, as it is our responsibility to be as citizens of a republic then their lies fall on deaf ears.

Being from Canada, one could change the word 'Congress' to 'Parliament' I suppose and this quote would apply.

“Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.”  ―    Mark Twain

I go to Snopes .com when I want to know if something is true or false or

a half truth. It is a very impartial site.

Nor is it anything new. I think that the word "politics" is from the Latin polotios - which loosely translates to "full of shit!"
