I think one would have to have some kind of deterrent in place of guns something perhaps that would immobilise but not destroy. The problem would be to make it acceptable to those who would be offenders. We have strict gun laws here, but they a still around.

At the lecture Bill Nye gave here a few months ago, he made the point that anyone can have a good idea. Maybe we can't make what we dream, but if we share the idea, maybe someone else can.

Suppose a beam could disrupt violent brain patterns by altering brain wave patterns? "You'll have to pry my antisocial brain wave disrupter out of my cold dead fingers", could be a line in a future movie.

though i agree with you i dont see that happening for some years to come due to the huge gun lobby, NRA, militant groups such as those of the Timothy McVeighs
