Well, it seems like a topic that engages your readers.

How do you feel about including this degree of gore in everything you write from now on?

What if he has his mouth clamped shut?  Are you going to pinch his nose shut?

PatB

I say suck 'em out with the shop-vac, much more tidy and dramatical.

How about feeding them to him on the end of the knife. Before dainty

living conditions people ate their Mutton or Rabbit or whatever from their dagger point. Mind you, using a fork one could wind the entrails around them like spaghetti...hmnn but a chunk of Liver would go well off the end of the Knife that sliced it out.

Did you see "Robin Hood Prince of Theives" a few years back...?

Alan Rickman, as the Sheriff of Nottingham, declares venomously, "I'm going to cut his heart out with a spoon!"

Muscles-for-Brains guy:  "Why a spoon?"

Sheriff: (in an explaining-the-obvious-to-an-idiot voice) Because it'll hurt more!"

That's what this post brought to the surface.  And I think Naut has it... a pitchfork is long, and sharp and unfriendly.

Umm...that just took care of any breakfast I was planning to eat.... You are right though - fork is much better.

Pat

If this were in rural setting, which it probably isn't, 'on a pitchfork' might work well, LOL...
