Trousers, Britches, breeks... I've heard it different ways, but there is the flower, a relative of Bleeding Heart.

Re: Re: Kabu ah but dear CCT. how awful not to keep teasing you every day

if I stopped blogging what else would I do? Wiley is too close to tease any more than I already do. He can run almost as fast as what I can talk!

Re:adnohr:

Well they don't go hunting Snow hares with big dogs Adnohr, If you could see the Major's old lady you might think that you were delicate.

Re: CCT

Naut he is pondering his career. Once upon a time one could but BB buttons kind of a press stud affair suitable for a clergy man's fly etc.

I'm not so sure that ladies can be termed 'delicate' in this day and age, CC. But I don't want to shock the Major, so I won't go into it here.

CCT

Even I, the illiterate botanist, have heard of bachelor buttons, though I would have a hard time describing them, LOL...But I hope that poor old Major Concrake will still be up to the occasional skirmish...

Re: As for Bachelor's Buttons, it's almost time for them again

Pat what are we going to do with you, but I guess it was consoling, and amusing in a sad way. Actually I have some cuckoo flowers growing in my lawn, and I have not seen any for years. I always picked them when I was a boy, they grew along the lane in the silence that awaited the drone of an enemy plane.

Re SAM

Sam the Major sends his regards and is glad to hear that you're still around, well I don't like to get personal, but I know I can get away with it, with K and you. Stop it Major

Re Ciel.

Ciel I take it that these are wildflowers, quite frankly I have never heard of bachelor buttons in bouquets, but I am familiar with the plant. I must confess I have not heard of Dutchman's trousers, and I can only think that the biologists who named this plant in England had never seen a Dutchman.

Re: Kabu

What a relief Kabu evidently you do not know, I must send the answer in a sealed envelope on your 90th birthday. You sound a little bit tired according to the vibes which come directly from Canada, just try and relax a bit, this blogging is very tiring.

Re.;Wiley

WILEY One-day when I have a bit of time to spare I will tell you how to operate on a chicken that is crop bound. How to repair a tin saucepan with a pot mender. Also very important why you should not invite a gypsy woman to try your newly baked bread.

Chiff.Chaff.

I'm not one of your high class readers and I don't need to know how to skin a rabbit, ro fix my trousers. Not only that I can bake my own bread, make just about anything fixable, and I have to work harder than most to understand poetry, but I sure enjoy your company and love what you do with flowers. That's something else I don't do well at.

As for Bachelor's Buttons, it's almost time for them again

they grow wild along the rural parts of the road between here and Walmart... There are a few spots where the grass is allowed to grow, and those blue bachelor buttons nod in the breeze and remind me of the time of year when I broke up with Bobby, or he broke up with me, and I wore Bachelor Buttons in the ribbon of my straw hat...
