Beach combing is great and special finds are wonderful even if broken bits and pieces. Life's like that. Some of the most treasured memories are just small bits from otherwise dull or unhappy days.

No, maybe not shells by your lake, but in the right places, you can find pitoski stones, and they are pretty fine finds, too!

Like you, I love to walk beaches, even run along them sometimes, which is of course a different experience, often less contemplative, but not always...But of course I am far from the sea, even if, on our Lake, you can have an illusion of it. Though there are no exotic shells here...
