THANK YOU ALL MY DEAR FRIENDS ...this was a hissy fit from me that made me
feel ever so much better after I had written it. Yes we do have good lawyers here and in Australia and it is one reason I must go back...try to sort out some business.....in Australia... of course we wouldn't rest if we didn't do what was honest and we are fine we have everything, for we have each other.

Poor Kabu!  Naut and adnohr have given you some good advice.  One thing I do know, you are an honest person and though you may be sick of being honest, you would never be happy being dishonest.

Sorry to hear WileyFriend is feeling bad and wow, can so many of us relate
to the unfairness of the taxation and penalty issues, Dear Kabu. A sign of how rotten things are everywhere I guess when good, decent, honest actions are rewarded with a drag down net skimming till it bursts. Yet those who steal, cheat, lie (thinking the big banks, multinational corps., government and investment scammers) and plunge the whole world into chaos get winks and nods. My advice do what you can legally to hold onto what is rightfully yours and look forward to karma..oh yeah and keep on loving, living in bliss..

Sorry to hear this. The governments should stay out of our business,
especially marriage!  The BL may be a government spy, that one.

Sorry to hear about all of this financial pressure
Why do governments across the world pretend to be looking after their people when their real and only mission is to look after themselves? Democracies and Dictatorships share this trait of greed and self-fulfilment. Thankfully the love that flows from both of you on these pages makes up for any deficit

Prayers and empathy.  Life can be rough when you do things right, but it also has it's benefits to walk the straight and narrow.    Glad some can advise you to look into the tax laws.  Maybe you should consider putting some of your short stories together and hope they become best sellers!! I don't know what else yet at least.

Sending prayers of Light and Love of healing to Wiley
It is so awful that the government always goes for the jugular for just plain working families and the rich get a slide.

Kabu......
In this one sense we all feel the same pain......Americans are about to get the "marriage penalty" thrust back upon their shoulders on Jan 1.  Families with children lost half of their child tax credits $1000 back to $500 per child....and then we're to expect to believe it isnt a tax increase....t'is an expiration that restores those things back to their previous levels......BS!  If you're paying more what you are losing is increasing....INCREASING!

At least we can all suffer together......

It's frustrating and very annoying, but I agree with adnohr - you might want to get advice from an accountant who specializes in taxation matters; I think you'd find it worthwhile...

I don't know anything about either countries tax system, but from what I
have read online, you may be able to get a "foreign tax credit" from your country of origin.

I would definitely ask about it. Make sure they know you are paying taxes in "both" countries.

I would think that there shouldn't be double taxing unless it is for some kind of currency differential.

That is not fair how the Austrailian and Canadian governments treat both you and Wiley. These sorts of things are what make people try and successfully buck the system. Kudos to the two of you for being honest.

That is terrible... and  you are right, they encourage people to lie.  I know a lady whose little boy has cancer.  She had a nice job... nothing exorbitant but it paid the bills and she was happily married.  She  had to get a divorce quit her job and go on welfare so that the government would help her with the medical bills she and her husband just could not afford. otherwise.  I don't know why our governeent just helps those who have given up and totally dep[end on it.  So sad... I hope Wiley rests and feels better soon.  Those tests can be exausting Kabu.  You take care of yourself too sweetie... xoxoxo

Seems to me they keep changing the rules in the middle of the game.
Whatever the law was when the marriage took place ought to continue for the balance of the contract. That way you'd know ahead of time if your decision was the right one financially as well as romantically. You two seem to have run into a buzz saw of penalties and exceptions.  Keeping my fingers crossed that Wiley gets up from his nap feeling tip top.

It's the same all over Kabu, the trap is set for honest folk. Now the money is running out it will be drawn tighter. Yes I expect it was tough on Wiley, and as tough on you. This is a harsh time I'm sure, but you have faith in each other and I suspect many prayers winging your way. Take care

Kabu
These sorts of things are what I keep yelling to make people aware of. The governments of the world are destroying their citizenary as quickly as possibl through destroying the economic structure. God bless you both. I am so sorry this sort of thing is happening to you. My prayers are there. Love you, Johna

Kabu -maybe you should look into seeing a tax specialist. There are ways & means to pay less tax (legally), but the gov. officials won't tell you about it, even if they did know. Frankly, most of the fonctionnaires who work there don't know alot. The fee for a good specialist is worth it in the long run.

Kabu, our greedy governments are all in the same boat, with their

hands out...they could care less if we live our lives honestly or in deceit....its small comfort, but at least we can go to sleep at night with clear consciences....

It does suck when governments do that. You are rich beyond measure in love and you and Wiley can sleep soundly at night knowing that you are good, decent, honest people.
