Tzippy, that is horrible to have gone through.  I hope to read that your family showed up this man that made difficult times entirely horrible for you.

Horrible.  I am glad you found an outlet in writing. Religious devils can be some of the worst because they feel justified.

Oh, how I can relate to this, T. That same anger welled up inside of me as I read this. The weak mother, fooling herself. The name calling "The Nervous One?" I wonder why!!! These guys all have the same M.O., I tell you. Not an original bone in any one of them.

This story is such a horror to me because I have known so many who have suffered in similar ways.  It is hard to understand how some human beings can be so two-faced that some people outside the home see them as great human beings, while their families suffer tremendously at home.

As long  as I live I will never understand why people beat on a child! It is such a horrendous act against the child! I know he will get his due one day! The stuff we won't go through growing up! Some of us just got a bad parent! Makes no sense at times! sam

Tzippy
Absolutely horrifying, an utter nightmare! But surely your mother didn't know that this bastard was beating your brother, did she?

I guess this would be the typical experience of some one who moves from
a small town culture to the big wide US. But I guess u had the additional experience of this "religious zealot" as you call him. Look forward to read your next post!

How horrifying, Tzippy!
Abuse of children is the one issue that sets my blood boiling beyond high. Powerful writing, as always.
