Enticing! And cucumber, even when not exactly cool, sounds perfect for a hot weekend - I shall definitely try it.

And here's a tip for you - I don't know if you use Chinese or Japanese soy sauce, but I use several of the Japanese varieties exclusively! There's one by Kikkoman that is made especially for use with sashimi - it's very good. But any of the Japanese varieties are better than the Chinese ones...

That's the best part, Tim-bo.
From the time you start peeling shrimp to the time you scrape up the last forkful from your plate, it takes all of about 45 minutes. Or two glasses of cheap pinot grigio. Or three cold beers. Depends on how you keep time...

It was weird for me, too, Taps.
But, adventurous fool that I am, I had to try it. And it is really, really good. Astonishingly good, actually.

I don't think I have ever cooked cucumbers.  I always use them raw.
It is hard for me to imagine them cooked.
