It is hard to find somemone to do yard work and snakes eeeeek !!!!!
My ex shot a rattler and decided to make himself a belt. I worked 3-11 and he worked days so I wasn't home when he shot the snake and hung it on the clothes line to dry out.  I went out the next morning to hang out the laundry.  I didn't know I could run that fast.lol

I also do not like snakes, but if I see one, unless it's a rattler I won't have it killed. Rattlesnakes are a different story!

No matter how much I know that garden snakes have their good points, I can't help but jump and "Eeeeeek" when I see one near.   As far as lazy people go, they give me a feeling of revulsion also.

Caption yes Give me a hand Mate, there's a nut behind here. Grass cutting, I has spent a long time strimming my front grass and a man called in the afternoon. 'Shall I strim your front garden Chief?' 'No I've only just done it.' He cast a critical eye.' 'I could make a good job of it do you want a quote.' 'No thank you.' I know what their strimming would do cut all the bark off the apple and other trees,' I also like to see an address on the proudly present business card, not a mobile phone number.

Well I don't really...
if somebody would like to pay me vast sums to stay at home that would be fine by me

Kabu
That guy calls himself a gardener and is afraid of garter snakes? I have never heard anything so ridiculous...!

I think one of the toughest things to do for someone with grassy property is to find someone to cut the lawn! The prices are high, and it does seem like many landscapers do not put the time forth.

You two are such honeymooners, I love it. Be blessed.

Kabuiepie-;)
This post was priceless and the photograph would win a prize for sure. I know you talk to the wee creatures but to be able to get that Chippy to pose with the gnome while Graysome looked on, was absolutely spiritual and I swear you have more Irish in you than me love.

I hired some guys to mow my lawn
at least while my huge fruitless Mulberry tree was blooming -those pollen pods leave me sneezing and gasping for breath.  Needless to say the guys I hired took two days to do what I usually do in about an hour with a string trimmer. One of them appeared the second day ringing my doorbell at 7 AM to barrow my string trimmer and my rake and a trash sack.  At least he did pick up most of the pollen pods but I probably won't be hiring him again. I watched him through the window for a while and he mostly stood leaning on my trimmer or holding the rake like he saw a snake but the only thing he could have been gazing at is a present Bo left in the yard sometime during the night. Good Bo!

What a cute picture Kabu. The gnome standing guard. Wiley has really kept the place spruced up over the years.

Lovely picture, Grandmummy.  How about Gnome games?  More of my story soon.  I love you.

How about this:

"Look at that nut -- scared of a little ribbon in the grass..."

I think it's great ya'll watch out for the little critters -- we aslo try to do this. A mouse in the house is a problem, but I don't worry about them in the garage - or the rat snake that wanders by looking for them, either.

It's all good. Someone with sense will come by and take a great job. You know that.
