Heart Gripping

This made me stop and really read your poem more then once. It is undeniably beautiful, heartbreaking and healing all at once! You wrote a few lines that I just kept coming back to because I can relate so well! I have been there too.

"I would've allowed myself to feel vulnerable because you can't experience love without feeling it. If I would've learned to love me before trying to love you."  That hit me hard. It hit me because it is undeniably true. I learned how to love myself before I ever fell in love with the man I am now with. Every man before this, I didn't love myself and the first man I ever loved taught me so much about life, living and love but I didn't love myself and therefore, couldn't love him like he did me.

Thank you for leaving a comment on my blog! I put yours as one of my favorites because the way you write is very inspiring to me!

This is a really terrific poem, full of self-knowledge but coming through all that pain with love.

What a fantastic poem. I really think it is. I think it's so great that I guess this was not the first and only time I read it. I'm so much looking forward to come back and read some more.

Have a wonderful day.
