The past is not, the future is not yet, being in the moment without any past or future is the present ... that is why it is called a gift. Past - memories - blame, anger; future - fear. Anger and fear absent, one is in the present.

Sam, good things happen when we stay in the present moment.

A Timely Post Indeed!

The post that you Tzippy have created here is one that will hit every single Blogit member and person in the world. My hat is off to you for this post. However, you will never know how timely it is for my family and I. This same topic was discussed in my home with my wife two nights ago due to our realization of being designated somehow as caretakers with family members with health issues for the last 13 years. My wife and I have not taken a vacation since 1996 due to family health care needs. I know that sounds like a long period of time but trust me this is how it has unfolded.

Thank you for affirming the same direction that my wife and I concluded in our conversation. This was incredibly timely and I thank you!

You have an incredible gift from God young lady.

Good Morning, Tippy!!! Looks like you've been burning the midnight oil again! LOL I'm glad to see you're finding the gold nuggets that lie within all the muck and mud that surrounds every one of us.

A nice way of reminding us about the importance of "today is a gift". Which is true, and yet so easy to forget.

Thank you for sharing this.  I needed it. The past haunts me a lot.  I'm putting the part about "Yesterday is history" up on the wall in front of my computer.

Great post.  That's all that any of us really have--now, with memories of all those other "nows" and how we wasted them, or used them for good.

I like the attitude. Lately I have been discussing on one of my blogs (My Education Experience) appreciating the moment.

Carpe diem!

And you're welcome to copy that post of mine, though you might point out that the bulk of it is directly from Robert Spencer's The Truth About Muhammad. In fact, I highly recommend that book, as well as a host of others on the topic of Islam...I am a great believer in people knowing what they're talking about...

Pleasing Others
I agree that trying to please others gets in the way of success.
