I didn’t know Cape Breton “rocks” were among the oldest in the world.  That surprises me.  I was there about 20 years ago and remember, quite vividly, the rustic feel of the Island, the in the middle of nowhere towns or villages, and I remembering wondering how people survived the brutal winds and relentless winters.  Welcome home and I’ve no doubt you had a wonderful time in your favourite part of this country.

Thanks for that wonderful post. I just love to learn about histroy and interesting places, I wish I could live for another 100 years to see all the enticing places of the world. I note, what you said about train travel in Europe. I went by train from Quebec to Toronto and I was mighty impressed, it was so good. The worst in western Europe are in the UK. Thanks again for the Cabot story.

Nautikos
Welcome  back my friend, I'm happy you're well and on holiday down in God's country. I too have spent a lot of time in Cape Breton and took Kabu there last year.

Nautikos - Cape Breton sounds so enticing and the history attached to it sounds great.

I've never been to that part of North America, Naut, but it's intriguing to me.  And a geologist's dream!  Good to have you back....Mal
