Not me! I like a little variety. I still mourn the day Britain decimalized (decimated? LOL) their currency...And I hate that damn Euro - I was much happier with francs and marks and guilders and lira and such...

Good suggestion, vogue.  I got used to military time when I worked for the government early in life.  I have always liked keeping time that way.  I was glad that all of my nursing career, time was documented in that way.  If you have to do a lot of documentation, it does save a lot of time and confusion.

great post, Vogue - I've often had these thoughts myself.  "Military time" makes much more sense, though there are some dopy people who can't grasp that a 13 can mean 1 and when the hell is 20 o'clock?  Our system of time made lots more sense when clocks were all analog.  Now that they're digital, there's no excuse not to change it...mal

As confusing as the time thing can be, I prefer the month/day/year approach because it mirrors how one might speak the date.  You wouldn’t answer the question “when were you born?” (or at least I wouldn’t) with “1955, January, the first”… your would respond “January 1st, 1955”   Anyway…  that would be my pick but yes, indeed, it bugs me that depending on who or what you’re dealing with there is no consistency with how a date is expressed.  Drives me nuts.   (and no, that’s not my birthday… but close  )

Standardisation does make things easier. I sometimes follow American recipes and used to get quite confused about 'cups'; so I had to go and buy specialy 'cup'measuring cans.

or if ATM machines were all the same,  electronic windows in cars, or gas pumps worked the same, I am sure if I thought long enough I would have a whole list of aggravations

I totally agree with you Vogue
especially with regards to the date - it does seem more logical to have the day, month, year sequence; many blessings and thanks
