I'll pray for a speedy recovery - and a great physical therapy center.  That's what made the difference for my mom when she had her hip replaced.  Thanks for commenting on my post, Texas.  By the way - in 1978, I went to Stephen F. Austin State U. in Nacagdoches and lived there for several years as a grad student (from Connecticut!).  I spend a summer as a CETA summer youth counselor, and Temple was part of my territory.  Beautiful country in the pines of Deep East Texas.  Mal

May you have a safe trip in this bad weather and may God be with your mother as she goes through surgery, recovery and therapy.  I will be praying for you both.

Hip replacements are awesome! My grandma tossed her walker for a good ten years after she got hers. Hang in there, and lean on her...I mean encourage her... to do her physical therapy!
