These lines...
caught me the most...."It is the flow of tears as he replies to us in silence. God doesn't like noise. He loves us silently." They let me go to a time where there was others who had said something like this...Conversation was never begun at once, nor in a hurried manner. No one was quick with a question, no matter how important, and no one was pressed for an answer. A pause, giving time for thought was the truly courteous way of beginning and conducting a conversation. Silence was meaningful with the Lakota, and his granting a space of silence to the speechmaker and his own moment of silence before talking was done in the practice of true politeness and regard for the rule that "thought comes before speech".

(Luther Standing Bear.)

To "make medicine" is to engage upon a special period of fasting, thanksgiving, prayer and self-denial even of self-torture. The procedure is entirely a devotional exercise. The purpose is to subdue the passions of the flesh and to improve the spiritual self. The bodily abstinence and the mental concentration upon lofty thoughts cleanses both the body and the soul and puts them into or keeps them in health. Then the individual mind gets closer towards conformity with the mind of the Great Medicine above us.

 (Wooden Leg - Tsististas.)

Sorry Dave just got to thinking about these two quotes and how they seemed to relate to your writing...Great post!

true love is never shown by words, but by deeds
most preachers loudly profess love, but their actions show them to be phony. God does not wish to be worshipped, only loved.

some interesting points in this
I agree with your comments on worship, although I do believe that we can reprogram our thoughts and words as well as our actions - it just takes an lot of determination

If it is true that we are all as one with God then it must follow that
loving ourselves is loving Him also; it has to be so; interesting post Dave; many blessings and thanks

You can come to my class any time - although the other members might find you a tad austere since the dark side is what other people have, not them! However, they do have a very real example of the dark side taking over in their midst since they have someone in their community who has nearly gone under as the result of unjust accusations against him, and the word many people have used is 'evil'.

When you said you had a post for me I thought you were offering me a new job.... (see next post!)

I think David said it best when he said God is the conducter of my stringed instrument, when we learn this, it is then we understand that we are in his audience not him in ours.
