Re: Yet another argument...

The government owns the gas. We tried to make them privatize it, but they refused. They hold the prices down on many things for the poor to be able to afford them, while the rich actually care less, as here.....

Rice, beans, tortillas, bread and gas....minimum wage is about $.62 cents an hour for the better jobs right now.

Re: ...adding this gem to my 'road notes' along with all the rest areas along

ciel, each city in Mexico drives differently. In Tijuana, you can dodge drug lords' bullets as they drive around town trying to finish off each other OR

you can get stuck in glorietas in Guadalajara, circling endlessly, unable to break free and onto the road that you really want, or

you can make illegal turns from the center lane as foreigners do, because in Mexico, you drive onto the neighborhood frontage road to then cut across all traffic to make a left hand turn.....quite exciting when the gringos do it and the Mexicans honk and shake their heads.

The Mexican traffic cops are all on foot with whistles, so that you may tryo to run away and ignore them when they whistle at you to pull over.

If you are beautiful, you might flirt your way out of a ticket, if you are wealthy and the policeman is willing, you can try to mordida your way out of a ticket,

or the policeman will take away your license plates and you cannot get them back until you pay your fines at their offices which have five hour lines in them.

Or, if you have an accident, you can go to jail as you are guilty until proven innocent in their nation.

It used to be the opposite here, but that ain't necessarily so anymore. No one is innocent until proven guilty in the USA like they used to be. Habeas corpus, mis nulguitas feas.

Sorry, going on about nothing here.....go to Mexico and drive, it is fun, except in Mexico City.

Re: How many gallons of gas will it take to go to work?

mothernature, the border is less than one hour from my home, so their gas prices are meaningful to me.

Luckily, many more of us will be unemployed and so, we won't be spending as much driving to non-existent jobs in our future days. We can job hunt online and save that way and then take the bus when we go for an interview. Fer sure, fer sure.

Re: Benzinha,

Glennb, don't hold back, tell me what you really think about this administration!! Just joking. You and my brother could bring charges against them.

I fear that too much monosodium glutamate has made us all too stupid to move. It sure has made us too stupid to vote.

I pity the nation that has us voters inside it, voting and not voting. I find, OMG, that voters don't even know what the propositions are in my city, when they decide what to do with those propositions, voting yay or nay. Scarey.

I want half of the present administration in court this month, pleading guilty to everything that anyone has said about them in the past 8 years.

I wonder if we will let the next administration get away with as much BS for as long without interference?

Re: Should we all go back to Mum's childhood days and ride the horse to Town???

Kabu, you are welcome and I will always care about you two.

I do like the idea of a horse, but have no grassy fields for them to munch on, sigh....

BC-A, and the alternative is used french fry oil, I think. At least, it smells better, but makes me hungry when the cars using it drive by.

Re: sam444, Iran's gas is $.40 a gallon.

He says that there is no shortage, just lies from the oil pumpers, oil sellers and oil dispersers.

He also says that there are no gay people in his own country. Could he be both right and wrong??

Yet another argument...

Too bad I don't live near Mexico. Thanks anyway, for the heads-up.

US highways, and where the wifi hotspots are...  What is driving in Mexico like, anyway?  Once I cross the border, chances are I will keep driving!  And remeber to fill up again on my way out.

Find a job? Are you paying your Boss? That is just my opinion. How far is the border?

Benzinha,
When are we going to really wake up? Nothing but another diversion from the "real" problem! Who cares what the price of gas is? And Why? Are we being primed for the "real" hose job? These asses walking away free from prosecution for crimes against humanity! And the destruction of America!
