gapcohen makes an excellent point...
...the Native Americans were not the non-violent, feather wearing, hippies that modern mythology has made them out to be. That being said, I love this post and agree with it's sentiments.

In the hospital where I work the pastoral people tend to play Imagine in the middle of their religious ceremonies which always leaves me wondering if they're being self-deprecatingly post-mod or just a playing loose in the neural processing department. Great reflections CL and a rather cool picture too.

I didn't know just how wise Lennon was until I got close to be his age when he died (40). Now, I think of him often (Yoko has a great Lennon website) and find myself wondering what he might have achieved had he lived. Great post.......as usual.

WOW, knock my socks off and really make me think...hard about the simplicity of what you have said here in this post. I vote for you...for anything. I can't tell you enough how much I love your stuff

Hey Cunning
As um-granola as that all sounds, and as idyllic as The First Dead Beatle makes it sound, even our very own, land-loving Native Americans led scalping parties and fought and killed over if not their possessions and land then their honor/tribe/squaws - pick one.  Violence does not always stem from national pride or religion.  It is, unfortunately, pretty age-old.
