Comments on To mention or not to mention?

I read this yesterday...
thought about it, and couldn't make up my mind. I still can't...so I'd say whatever he did was right, er...wrong...er...right...

Vogue, I think he did right by not mentioning the 1st wife.
It would have slighted the 2nd wife.

I don't think he needed to say anything
His feelings about her are for him. The relatives were at a birthday party for him. It is nice that he still has the connection with them. They all know the connection they share.

he should have my dear...but i believe though that it must have been a tough situation for him too...

I would have wished he said something....even just a couple sentences about his 1st wife.

I agree with what he did.

Mentioning wife #1, would have been only for the benefit of the 10 people

who already knew too well how he felt about her. He still has his life to live

once those ten have left the party. Just my opinion.

I would have mentioned her...
...and would have prepared wife#2 before-hand. He may have done that and wifey#2 might have said no. Even though I find that hard to swallow. Definitely a judgement call.
