A couple of things .... sugar ....
Let me start with .... this is so true:  "A trustworthy axiom in Texas is the sweeter the southern belle, the greater her strength, grit, and fortitude for winning arguments. You have been warned."

As for "Get used to hearing, “You ain’t from around here, are you?”, followed by spitting."  We do not "spit" for gawd's sake, we simply cleanse our pallets in order that we might savor your delicious reply, sweet pea

"There are no delis. Don’t ask."  -- Yes, we have delis, we just don't hang them from our apartment landings like you folks do!

"A Mercedes-Benz is not a status symbol. A Ford F-150 is."  Yeah, no.  We use the Mercedes to drive Oprah around when we sue her for making fun of us - otherwise, we use our truck to haul the money in

I'm from Arkansas
I was living for a time in San Angelo, Texas back in the 1970s. I walked into a department store the first week I was there and a salesclerk said, "Kin I hep y'all?"

I looked around to see who came in with me. :)

In Arkansas, y'all is plural, meaning "you all that are together here" or "you and unspecified other people who may not be present at the moment". Y'uns, is also plural, meaning "you and your kin or friends who may not be here right now but are important to the what we are talking about". :) There's also we'all and we'uns and they'all and they'uns with similar distinctions.
