I choose, in cases already established, discipline ....
meted out kindly and with subsequent follow-through. My older brother failed the second grade just to stay in a safe and loving environment with his teacher. Giving children, who otherwise have nothing to draw from, love and a false sense of security in school can be as damaging as doing nothing at all for them. They must be taught to find that same love and security from within to sustain in their future.

You have me just a little confused here. If the election is, as you say, "between kindness and meaness" and Obama is being referred to as the "kindness" are you referring to Hillary as "meaness" or are you referring to the Republican candidate as "meaness"? Just wondering.
