Reading Quran is better
Hi, I am an American Muslim living in UAE and although this practice has been around for many years, it is most prevelent in places like Egypt, Syria, Lebanon and Lybia as well as others but Gulf Countries like the UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabiain, Kuwait and Bahrain do not believe in these practices. In Islam there is only reading verses of the Quran to protect yourself or having a Sheikh (like a priest) to read on you, most of these remedies are
Superstitious acts and have nothing to do with Islam.

lindo, What an interesting post.
I guess you thought that I was never going to get around to reading it. Just in case you might be interested, I have very blue eyes. They are inherited from my mother's side of the family. All of my father's people have brown/dark eyes, as do half of my siblings. Only my dad could make us feel as if he was giving us the evil eye. I think though it had something to do with us already feeling guilty about certain things.
