I am taking a break from "Making the Alphabet" series, I realize that the last entry was a bit too abstract for most of you but it's like the film "Being John Malkovich": I'm letting you inside my head so that can be a bit of a rollercoaster ride. The other reason I did not continue with the current... Sign in to see full entry.

Not an easy read but the clip at the end is fun!
Sorry for the delay in posting this entry guys, but I could not find an easy way to explain the two systems of listing the Arabic alphabet and not sound like an encyclopedia. It turned out that the best way about it is to quote the encyclopedia (Wikipedia to be specific). The entry regarding Arabic... Sign in to see full entry.

For now, this is a separate link for the album here. I don't know why it did not work for so many of you. Try this one and... Sign in to see full entry.

A forced break...

Reason and Rhyme...
The association with a blackboard was not what I had in my mind for my alphabet piece. Together, we... Sign in to see full entry.

The concept was so deceptively simple; and yet after 2 weeks I still could not come up with any kind of a sketch for this piece. I had found an ancient page from a 13-cetury old Koran in a form of writing that was... Sign in to see full entry.
A joureny to the center of the soul
Thanks folks for your encouraging comments (all three of them!). It is easier to find an audience for an art piece than it is to get people interested in the making of it, but I guess it is the ultimate flattery for an artist: that your work has generated curiosity beyond the NOW -that the final... I promised you guys a lengthy explanation so here we go, but brace yourselves coz this may take a few days. I am not doing this to bore you but more to keep a record of my own creative process, because it seems that I have a habit of getting so immersed in my work that I forget later how or why it... Letter by letter- the series
Ok guys: I have a little riddle for you. These are the other 8 pieces that i showed for the first time at the Cairo Atelier. they were intended to be shown as one unit but ended up as 8 separate works clustered together on the wall. I want you to try and guess how these works were executed. Hint: it... Sign in to see full entry.
