Re: WELCOME aboard poet! Pian is a good source of poetry. Suggestions:
thank you for your words laydi daydi, but i am who i am, there is no shame in bi polar, nor is there pride, it just is. people do not need to fear the unknown they need to know it, so i write about life which includes bi polar and alzheimers and life itself. the style i use is also used by the poet e e cummins. i am aware of the english language and how to use it. poetry is of a unique style all its own, everyone has their own way of doing things that suit them. i appreciate you welcoming me, that was very nice of you. ~ peg

WELCOME aboard poet! Pian is a good source of poetry. Suggestions:
1. I love your refrain....but I would leave out the words "Of bipolar", and let the rest of the poem speak for it. Best, not to say it like in an essay or novel, I think....
2. Some careful edits "your" might often be "you're" if the cotraction meant is "you are."
Welcome again; this place needs serious and working poets (my own poems are works-in-progress, so I am a working poet!) Shalom/peace (PS> I took care of my mother for 6 months when she had terminal cancer, and I can relate only a bot. Alzheimer's is one of the creullest...having htem and NOT HAVING them at the same time). Peace-shanthi-amen!

We are truly kindred spirits
I too am the daughter of a military man.The last decade before he died he also suffured from alshiemers and I have experienced severe menopausal symptomes coupled with post tramatic stress. There is nothing more frightening than watching yourself lose your own mind and having no control, much less watching one of the people you love most in life slip away as well.
