holygrail - I think garbage cans might have been my most memorable blog
I've ever done...it was magic, electric, sizzling poetry, some of the best ever written, IMHO.

Makes me wish I hadn't cleaned house and killed all my blogs....But hey, I was being spyed on!  It hink I still have a lot of them as Word documents on the old computer. Might be worth a read sometime. I remember reading your stuff beofre I ever commented.  I remember the garbage cans flying through the air poetry blog. :)

I like to go back and read old blogs.
See how much I have changed...it's definitely an eye opening experience.

LOL! sounds like a familiar story.
Let's hope the next 6 months show the changes needed so we can start bringing all of them home without the need of going back ever again.

Bel - I found it much more surreal than boring. Strangely, I had a good
time in a "never wanna do that again" kind of way.

Freeman
You served your time as you were asked to do...everyone had boring moments.  If you compare what my husband did expect when he decided to go play with the Marines, I suspect fixing vehicles was pretty boring to most too.  it's all history and you were a part of it, if there was little excitement that is a good thing!

Bel - you can read them at

www.billycargo.blogspot.com

Some it it may seem trivial and far fetched to Army eyes but keep in mind I was a West Coast Sailor sent to the desert by myself without a very defined mission.

Do you happen to have some of the old blogs from Baghdad?

around here somewhere?  I would LOVE to read them if you are willing to share them.  I tried to get my husband to keep a journal or something...I have a total of three pages in composition book from his tour in Iraq.

I found a safe haven here while my husband was in Iraq and I needed a place to come that I could talk about the things that I didn't want to worry him with.  I've tried to leave a time or two but always end up coming back.

Thanks for sharing......
I wish I had found this place sooner....from all I have read, it sounds like there were some very interesting times here in the beginning....
