Wow,. you do lok on top of the world in that picture.  I know about being jaded!  But yet I'm also just the opposite...Funny how that works!

FreeManWalking, What a cold-looking place your pic portrays.   There is hope for the jaded.  I was once and thought I would forever be, but when the heart holds a bit of warmth (and I can tell yours does) the fires can easily be stoked again.

You forget, sweet boy, I have PROOF you are a romantic.
Being a romantic can get you hurt, yeah, but it gets lots of good stuff, too.  You remember some good romantic things, I know this, and you know me... hopeless.  Nice work with the Danish girl, let me know how it goes.  Here's your problem with women as I know it in the years that I've known you:  You set your expectations so high no one could fill them and you always want what you can't have.  The ones that love you, you get bored with.  Like we always say, writing is better from the tortured place... songs, poetry, whatever.  Some little girl will come along and straighten you out.  You'll see.  I can't wait to see you ass over tea kettle telling me about the upcoming nuptials.

Offbeats and Corbin - thats why we must maintain a sliver of hope..which
sounds more depressing than it is

I used to be like Freeman
then I found someone who had high expectations of himself and I discovered that it wasn't impossible to be with someone who said what they meant and meant what they said.

Men tend to do that don't we.....
we develop an "expect the worst" attitude and appreciate it more if it turns out that we were wrong......

Are you really jaded
or just realistic?

One time Minnie Pearl spoke to a drunk, depressed Hank Williams on the way

to or from some show.  "Hank, look for the light," she said, referring to his song "I Saw the Light."  He replied, "Minnie, there is no light."  Thats what being a romantic gets you.

BTW - I got a phone number yesterday of this really sweet and pretty Danish girl who wants to go drink beer with me. That was my pick-up line, "I bet you drink beer.  We should go drink some sometime."

You're not so jaded, kid cargo.
I know what you say, but I know what you really feel.  I think once you get settled and the next billet is handled, you may find a surprise.  Just like you told me on the phone, married life is where it's at.  You're a big romantic trying to play a cynic.  Oh, by the way, have I mentioned my vote for your next billet: SANDOG ... xoxo ... (We'll go out and get drunk and make Eddie drive... tee hee -- just bring your GUITar...)
