Corbin the newest thing the Professor is asking us to do is goggle for 30 seconds on subjects like this..Like that's something new...I was going to tell him if it takes him 30seconds to google then he needs a faster modem...

Quite frankly I don't think he understands just exactly what Whmsie wrote in the last post so it's like talking to the hand..

You Know, Whimsy.....

upon further observation of the chart below.......I have to concure that you are wrong......

We should be much more concerned about the estimated 47,000 illegals coming in from Canada!  They are presumably much higher educated and pose much more of a threat to our economy, because they are capable actually taking the kinds of jobs from Americans that Americans actually....want....to do.

Well, all righty, then, Corbin weighs in. I was going to drop the subject,
but how can I resist such a challenge? A CHART and everything. I just hope you read it before you cut and pasted it, Corbin, so you can discuss it.

Well, I thought

I'd mach some effort here, you know, to help out a bit......I found this chart at the center for Immigration Studies.......it's sources of data are noted at the bottom of the chart....it is for the year 2000, however one would expect that the main difference between it and the current figures would only bw that  fact that the numbers would have increased exponentially.....

If the same percentage decide to stay in California from all countries.......wouldn't the  numbers from the different Central and South American countries. still be small? ....wouldn't that make the Mexican numbers much higher anyway???

Uhhhhhh.......
Would you care to share an actual source of the statistical information you claim?  We must stop this outbreak of hindquarter pulling right here and now, don't you think?

WST, EXCUSE me, yourself, check your own facts: most immigrants in LA
are from Central America, Nicaragua, El Salvador, the statistics are there, Professor Peabody does homework. It takes 30 seconds on the web to look up this stuff, rather than pulling it out of your hindquarters.

Let me see, Whimsy, you're contradicting yourself, you identified yourself

in an earlier post, as living in Los Angeles, living in a seedy hotel of some kind, having had a reversal of fortune, where your father neglected to pay his taxes and the cold, unfeeling IRS left you destitute, like a poor gothic orphan straight out of a Tennessee Williams' play.

So, rather than deal with your anger over your father's bad decisions, you are making this about the illegal aliens, whom you assumed were illegal because they could not speak English. I can read, Whimsy, I've read your last several posts. Don't try to backtrack and deny what you wrote, unless you plan on deleting your last several posts, they contradict everything you're saying now.

YOU made it about race, because you are talking about other races, ergo, ipso facto, it is about race, because you yourself said so.  You need to check your own facts, and learn how to do research. Get an education.

Excuse me but the majority of illegal immigrants
in Los Angeles are from Mexico.  I didn't make that up.

I mean any illegals...
Mexican or otherwise.  You are making this about race not me.

I'm sorry, Whimsy, but that dog won't hunt. You made it about race yourself
when you started talking about illegal immigrants, and brought up your LA neighborhood. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize you mean, "Mexicans'.

You guys don't read well, do you?
I didn't say it was a requirement.  I said I wasn't sure and had to ask someone.  And, the point is still not about race!  It's about breaking the law!  You guys continually are trying to make this a race issue and race has nothing to do with it!  I have nothing against the Latino people.  I like many of them.  I have a problem with people who break the law!

Why is this so hard for people to comprehend?  Why must you insist on making this a race issue?  Are you afraid to deal with the issue on its merits?

Citizenship

is granted at the time of your birth.  Anyone born in the United States, or on  US Military bases, or embassies, is automatically granted US citizenship.  You don't "earn" it, you don't work for it, it's your birthright.  So I ask you:

"Since no one is born speaking English (or any language) HOW CAN ENGLISH BE A REQUIREMENT FOR CITIZENSHIP?

The answer is, it's not.  You can be a US citizen, native born or naturalized, and not speak English (whether by choice or ability).

You're a racist, plain and simple.  You assume that because someone has brown skin and speaks Spanish, they are de facto illegal immigrants.  I've read your previous posts ("Unknown crisis in America") and you use illegal immigrant and Mexican interchangeably.  It might benefit you to know that MOST illegal immigrants are NOT Mexican. The majority come from South and Central America, followed closely by mainland China.  Mexico is 3rd!

I'm sorry your life is miserable and "f"ed up; but whoever "f"ed it up, it is NOT illegal immigrants.  Go find another scapegoat, you xenophobic pig!

whimsy
Keyword...illegal. Since when does the difference between legal and illegal need translation?

Illegal..you go, you broke the law. If I break the law, I go to jail.

Legal. you stay

What's so hard to understand about these two words?

No, knowing English is not the sole criteria for US citizenwhip, Whimsy

Boy,. for somebody who is pretty quick to accuse me of being ignorant of basic facts, you've got some homework to do.  You're overgeneralizing and making broad, sweeping statements based on preconceived notiions and projections.

I don't know where you went to school, but in my classes, that kind of logic would have gotten you a D-

whimsystoryteller, I am doing what I can to teach them English. It isn't
my affair whether they are here legally or not.  I could care less.  The rest of us came here when we needed to.  Does the parable count, where the landowner paid a whole dinari to those who worked all day, to those hired at noon, and to those hired in the evening?
