Or, the other night I was halfway through a post when my mother called.  Later, when I hung the phone up, I realized I had completely forgotten the last half of the line I was working on.  Of course I was able to finish it, the logic of what I was saying was still there, it's just that the phrasing I had worked out was gone. Also, in converstation, sometomes I want to make a clever point, only I can't think of the word that I want.  By the time I remember it, the subject has changed so I just have to shut up.
