Van

When Wild Child turned 16, she wanted us to buy her a car. Really?! Not! We had an old van that we decided to give her - much to her chagrin. It ran great and the body was just fine. However, she turned the van into a hangout for her friends. Kind of like a 1960"s psychedelic van without painting... Sign in to see full entry.

Build-A-Bear

I don't know if any of you have been to Build-A-Bear, but if you haven't, you should go just to see the bright, shiny faces of excited children finding new "friends" (as my granddaughter calls them). I went with my granddaughter and grandson over the weekend. My granddaughter got a new friend - a... Sign in to see full entry.

Mud!

My grandkids came in from playing outside last night and their shoes were muddy. Reminded me when Wild Child and Free Spirit were about 6 & 4. Wild Child thought it would be a good idea to play in the mud and of course, she convinced Free Spirit to go along for the ride. When I caught up with them,... Sign in to see full entry.

The Hardware Store

When I was 5 months pregnant with Free Spirit, we moved to a larger home. Gave Wild Child more room to roam. I was awakened one morning (a little after midnight) by the TV. I went into the living room and discovered 2 1/2 year old Wild Child laying on the floor coloring and watching MTV! The next... Sign in to see full entry.

Houdini

We discovered our little Wild Child was a master of escape when she was just 6 months old. I had her in her playpen while I was trying to get some rest because she never slept more than 20 minutes at a time - day or night. I glanced at her to make sure she was safe and saw all of her toys piled in a... Sign in to see full entry.

Fashionista

When Wild Child was little, she had her idea of what she should look like - and they seldom matched my idea. She played softball for many years and always wore a turquoise sock instead of her uniform sock - but just one. She now has her own little fashionista - six year old Bright Eyes (told you my... Lunch at IHop

Went to lunch today at IHop with my daughters and 5 of my grandchildren. Such an experience! Our little two-year-old granddaughter, who my husband nicknamed "Little Rosebud", has a mind of her own and wishes to impose it on anyone within listening distance. Little Rosebud fits her sweet little... Sign in to see full entry.

Dog Treats

When Daughter #2 (Wild Child) and Daughter #3 (Free Spirit) were little, they loved to play outside - specifically in the tree house in the backyard. Having lunch in the treehouse was one of their favorite things to do. One day, they decided that our lab, Maggie, deserved to have treats while they... Sign in to see full entry.

How I Met My Husband

I first met my husband in first grade. We went through elementary school, middle school, high school, and one year of college together. We had a lot of the same friends and ran around together in groups, but never dated. He never married. I married at 20 and spent 5 years in an abusive marriage that... Sign in to see full entry.

Free Spirit

Daughter #2, who we thought would never be able to walk across the floor without getting hurt, went on to be my most athletic child. We were so surprised to find out that she was an excellent gymnast, pretty good at basketball, and a fantastic cheerleader. I still critique cheerleaders based on Free... Sign in to see full entry.
