Not such a big deal

Short and sweet today, the sun has finally come out and I have loads of things to do, like going to the fish market to get something nice and fresh. In some places in France on a Monday, you are sure to get fish left over from Saturday, but here, the fish just pop out of the sea onto the slab day... Sign in to see full entry.

Dinner for three

Cher Lecteur, Bonjour, I have had so many lovely comments from you all, thank you, it's so nice to know I'm on the right track and that my ramblings hold some interest! I had a couple of friends in to dinner yesterday evening, that's why I didn't write yesterday. I'm not a very tidy person, and now... Sign in to see full entry.

Farmhouse butter and can openers

Bonjour, cher Lecteur, My weekly basket of organic vegetables was delivered at 10pm yesterday evening; poor guy, he does a full working day and then spends his Wednesday evening delivering people in town. He does not charge for delivering either, we pay the same as the people outside Quimper who go... Sign in to see full entry.

Fish and octopods

When I arrived in... Sign in to see full entry.

Spontaneous cuisine

Bonjour, cher Lecteur, I'm not really the type of person who follows a recipe to the letter, or at all for that matter, except to glance at the picture, think: mmm that looks good, and store it away to reproduce some time I have a semblance of the ingrediens to hand. I am very definitely not a 5 grs... Sign in to see full entry.

I could live on rice

Bonjour, cher Lecteur, Easy to say, I know, when three quarters of the world's population have to live on rice and like it. But I really love nothing as much as a bowl of basmati, with bits and pieces on top. Plain boiled basmati. But I do twice the quantity, and fry up the second half the following... Organic Vegetable Baskets

Good Morning, dear Reader, I subscribe to a weekly organic basket of vegetables from a local producer, who actually delivers to my door every Wednesday evening. I pay every three months, which means I don't have to scrabble for change every time he comes. It costs me 11 euros a week, which a couple... Sign in to see full entry.
