HOW TO SELF EDIT YOUR POETRY

1. Don"t use weak verbs like was, were, could, should...Use vivid verbs that show action! 2. Take out exclamation marks!!! 3. Avoid cliches (common sayings). Cliches make it trite. 4.Think: who is my audience? 5. Do you have a "voice," a distinctive voice that tells the reader it's you? 6. Take out... Sign in to see full entry.
