How about an inexpensive reader-only subscription?Obviously, I'm not suggesting it for myself, but for my readers from other sites. I would like to be able to send out invitations to subscribe to read Blogit, like a newspaper or magazine, for a modest monthly price, say $2. This will make Blogit much more attractive to readers, especially when they compare the cost of reading Blogit (currently $12.95 month-to-month) to the cost of their Atlantic Monthly, New Yorker or even Architectural Digest. Of course, they could always upgrade to a writer's subscription if they wish, but I am thinking few of them will and those that do will only do so after several months of reading and conferring with the writers on Blogit. Those writers, in turn, will have more encouraging reviews of Blogit as a source of income if there is a substantial readership pool from which to draw.
When you think about the ratio of readers to writers at a successful periodical, which is at least in the many tens of thousands in order to pay the writers and the support staff and management through both subscriptions and advertising, Blogit's one reader per writer -- which is closer to one reader to hundreds of writers when considering actually readership of individual writers -- is patently absurd! And the cause of that perverse ratio for Blogit is the lack of a reader-only subscription.

Hello; a question about comments..
I was browsing through some of my older posts and noticed on six to eight of them the comment section has been altered; in maybe two, just certain ones have been removed and the rest show this:
"404 - File or directory not found.
The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
I know with certainty I didn't delete any of these comments and they were not inflammatory; not worried about losing them necessarily but I am concerned that my account has been compromised somehow..I do not share my password with anybody, either on site or off. I have changed it today and am combing through my other blogs to see if anything else has been removed or changed.
Any insight about this would be appreciated!

Hi there, I have a little question here, and I hope you can help me. Are you a staff member or not? Guess, it doesn't matter.
I just read the conduct policy, and saw that this policy tells that the place for adult-only content is in the category of this.
But what if a user has a FICTION blog, and the person uses sexual content in a piece of the fiction? Is not against the rules? I mean it's a short piece of adults-only in a longer piece of fiction.
Can somebody tell me how to handle this?

Two questins, old and new
1. Without the writer setting up a donation link, is there a way to donate above and beyond plain readership to bloggers here?
2. How about an email notification is a question we post in Community is answered?

I think I posted some of my better stuff at a poor time. Can I re-post it, and are there any special instructions on how to do that?

My edits disappeared!
I just started writing a novel. i was editing about 1,000 words filling in details and such, and the copy disappeared! I frantically began a search, sent an e-mail, found my original copy, but can't locate the copy with the changes.
Does anyone know what happened, and if the later copy can be retrieved? I sent what I could find to my email so that it would be preserved, but I really wish I had my edits. I can't remember them all.
Just a question- if you only earn a few cents, how do you really make money from this site? It seems to me that it is not worth it to pay the monthly fee if you only earn a few cents a month. Just curious
