Jerry Hairston, Two Minor Leaugers and a Side of Rice Pilaf?

Well, it looks like Slammin' Sammy Sosa is headed to Baltimore for Jerry Hairston and a couple of minor leaguers. The Orioles are going to foot seven million of Sammy's 17 million dollar contract with the Cubs picking up the rest. It's only for one year so what does Baltimore have to lose? I'm not... We Love That Bas... Ket...BALLLL!

I hate Duke. And I love Maryland. And I love nothing more than when Maryland goes into Cameron Indoor Stadium, makes Dickie V eat his microphone while giving Gary Williams his propers, exposes another overhyped Duke player as a fraud(J.J. Reddick you know who you are) and shuts the Cameron Crazies... Sign in to see full entry.

The Basketball Capital of the World

That's what I was going to write about yesterday after the Georgetown Hoyas beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on a dunk with.2 seconds left. It was another amazing win for the Hoyas this season by a team with three freshman leading the way. Coupled with the Wizards last second victory over Indiana... Sign in to see full entry.

"The Wait"

Friday, 11:35 a.m. Philadelphia Mike walks up to me and says, "Man if the Eagles lose on Sunday, I don't know if I'm coming in to work on Monday," Across the nation, similar comments are made to Dan Patrick on ESPN radio by other Philly fans. Pessimism reins in Cheesesteak town. All week long, the... Sign in to see full entry.

I Knew It! I Knew It!

Sure enough, no sooner than I write about the Washington Wizards, they get their first bit of bad luck. Guard Larry Hughes broke his thumb Saturday night in the teams victory over the Phoenix Suns and will be out 4-6 weeks. It had to happen, things were going too well. And sure enough, the 'Zards... The Manning Rules

First off, let me begin by saying that I am a Peyton Manning fan. Have been since his days at Tennessee. Didn't buy into all of that crap that Florida had his number(even though they did) and that Ryan Leaf was a better QB. And Tony Dungy is my man what with him being a former Steeler and, more... Bullet Fever!

That was the song that was played on the airwaves back when the Washington Bullets/Wizards won their last NBA title back in 1978. The next year, the Bullets lost to the Seattle Supersonics in the finals and little did we know at the time, but a long drought had begun. Well that drought may finally... Sign in to see full entry.

The NFL Playoffs!

Okay, I'm going to try and go out on a limb and predict the NFL playoffs before they start. Of course, I'm going to toss records aside. I'm a football historian. I have my own theories on whose going to win or lose. Last year, I came up with a Philly-New England Super Bowl with New England winning.... Sign in to see full entry.

55-19!

Now, I'm going to admit that going into last nights Orange Bowl, I was a little worried about my SC Trojans. When my nephew asked what my boys were going to do about an hour before kickoff, I told him that it was a pick 'em game. I was actually going into the game with an attitude of if they win... 2005

No time to look back. Time to look ahead. Here's some things I'd like to see this sports year. No more talk of "stepping up". If a player is on the roster he is there to do a job or he shouldn't be in uniform. Nothing more, nothing less. No more mention of a "supporting cast". Either you are a team...
