"Hey Mom, Wanna do Crafts?"

SON:Hey Mom you wanna do some crafts? ME:HECK YEAH! (2 minutes later: Apron on: check; supplies: check; table setup: check; everything I think we need: check!) I am all the time asking him to do this type of thing with me and he is all the time asking me to play video games. Neither one of us really... Sign in to see full entry.

Exam is over...come get me?

On my last errand of the day when I receive a text saying my freshman is wanting a ride home from school. I knew it was a possibility however what I do not understand is what I later find out. First, I was told it was due to not feeling well, but they want to try to tough it out. I didn't ask too... Sign in to see full entry.

It's a field trip I don't have to go...

You learn on field trips too. I understand you may not want to go on them. They happen for a reason. You go to the "media" center for a reason. You have PE, and Music for a reason. Why are we giving them the option to go on field trips now. When did this happen? I remember just last year counting... Sign in to see full entry.

Well rounded kids, is that too much to ask? Apparently...

December 6 th, 2018 4:19pm I was thinking that by giving my youngest child (aged 10) the opportunity to play games after homework during the school week, as a reward for working hard. raised to be independent, team player, leader and/or all of the above?

I wasn't "raised", the number just gets bigger... I look back on growing up and nothing was really ever consistent. My kids asked me about school years ago. We figured out that I actually attended 9 all together. I did graduate, which was a true miracle! YAY! (FYI-I was born after dad retired from... Sign in to see full entry.

Speak when spoken to...

When I was young, it was not ok to speak at all around adults unless they talked directly to me first. I was to remain quiet until I was spoken to. This was especially important at the dinner table. NO ELBOWS! I do recall that when I was getting older, (pre-teenish) it was not enforced as much.... Sign in to see full entry.

First memory in elementary school...

I remember standing near the swings at the playground one day, I couldn't have been any older than six, I know it was before 2nd grade. This girl I had never talked to before walked up and asked me where my dad worked. I told her he worked at the plant. She said her dad did too. (Most everyone's dad... Sign in to see full entry.
