Roses are Red

The KC Star's theme for today was the poetry of love. I think one of the cutest poems was one my grandfather wrote to a girl named Nellie Wells. It went like this: "Roses are red, violets are blue, I'd like to get better acquainted with you." She wrote back: "Roses are red, violets are blue, I'd like to get to know you, too." They did get better acquainted... and at the ripe old age of 15, in the year 1913, my Gma Nellie was wed to Ward W. Ralston. They were married 66 years. Sign in to see full entry.
