The "opportunity" to buy something is NOT a "reward"!!!

Is anyone else sick of buying something online or over the phone and being told you qualify for a special "reward," only to find that the "reward" is the "opportunity" to sign up for a "buying club" or a discount on something completely unrelated to your purchase?
