Imaging...don't you just love to doodle?

This was done in the Paint File of my computer. The above was pulled of my subconscious, quite unintended. Big surprise to me. I see my 19 year old granddaughter lying on her stomach drawing her heart. She wants to be an artist. I see my significant other standing by to catch me if I should fall. I... There are many ways to bring joy into our lives...

We do not know how art making began any more than we know how language started. There are those who may make fun or tell art is frivolous and there are much more important things to do. Nothing stimulates us and excites us like making art or even witnessing it. It communicates events and experiences... Sign in to see full entry.

Memories imprinted into our genes...We can't escape them, nor should we...

want to? They come onto like the sun peaking over the clouds, warm and blissful, fading into a restful sunset like presents just for us…or, o ther times, they leave us dark as the inside of the moon, I suspect. It is fortunate for all of us all our memories can be turned into creative expression... Sign in to see full entry.

What is an active imagination? An active imagination generally involves...

the following steps. Quiet your mind in a similar way to meditation. Allow images to run through your mind and focus on them without holding on so they can pass by naturally. Sometimes it takes patience and practice to let go and let loose. Write down what you see or imagine. You can paint,... Sign in to see full entry.

The man who seeks one thing in life...and but one...

May hope to achieve it before life is done; But he who wishes all things wherever he goes, Only reaps from the hopes which around him he sows a harvest of barren regrets. by Owen Meredith There's no time to do or get everything I want. They call me an eclectic artist now which just means I cannot... Sign in to see full entry.

He who ascends to mountain-tops shall find...

The loftiest peaks most wrapt in clouds and snow; He who surpasses or subdues mankind, Must look down on the hate of those below, Though high above the sun of glory glow, And far beneath the earth and ocean spread, Round him are icy rocks, and loudly blow Contending tempests on his naked head. And... Sign in to see full entry.

Laugh...laugh...it feels good, it tastes good...it is medicinal...

Build for yourself a strong-box, Fashion each part with care When it's strong as your hand can make it, Put all your troubles there, Hide there all thought of of your failures, And each bitter cup that you quaff, Lock all your heartaches within it, Then sit on the lid and laugh... Tell no one else... Sign in to see full entry.

When the sky starts in a-rainin'...let it be,

There is no use of complainin', Don't you see? It will keep on perseverin' Till at last it's time for clearin' An' the days are bright and cheerin'' Let it be. When a friend gets sour an' surly, Let'im be. Don't start up a hurly burly, Fightin' free. He'll come 'round perhaps, with waitin'; Though... Sign in to see full entry.

Once in a while when I'm in the flow, there are moments of magic...

Writers can and often do live for those moments of magic. These moments of magic are the result of what psychologists refer to as being in the "flow." This flow can be such a peak experience that it is a very strong argument for not resisting the seduction of total commitment. Total commitment to... Sign in to see full entry.

Who's watching our children?

No, we can't watch them all the time, our children are like green moist blades of grass, newly sprung, mostly well placed, and nurtured, so why do their limbs turn black, Their roots wither away, and they dive deep into sin, while their bleeding hearts flow into rivers of doubt and confusion? Why is... Sign in to see full entry.
