I laud you for this passionate poem. It is a very scarey world for children --- and I pray fervently for all. and now with Grandchildren I am even more in prayer. God bless parents, teachers, grandparents... all whom have the responsibility of caring for and guiding the youth, today it's an extremely difficult job. ~Elyse

I worked in school administration for many years. I think we forget that the adults were blowing up superintendents before kids. That is one of the reasons I left the field. When evaluations get tough, then the time to move on is clear. I made tough decisions for the benefit of kids not for tenured professionals. I pray the unrest will subside but I fear it will be awhile. We are soul mates by virtue of education (probably why we blog in the middle of the night and the fact we don't know how to stop working) and love of poetry. sam

Re: Raising Children today is very scary!
This killing spree seems to be getting worse and worse.
It weighs heavily on my mind although my kids are grown
by granddaughter is in college. They had an incident just
the other day. I don't know how parents get through the day.
I will for you and your boys and you pray for all others.
Thank you for your comment.

Raising Children today is very scary!
I so relate to this poem. I have two teenage boys in High School. I pray everyday that they will come home each day after school with knowledge of good not bad. We live in rural US and it's here too, but so much less than in the Metro areas. That's why I moved out of the city 10 years ago in hopes to save my sons!
Thanks for the read it's so true!
