John's Gospel uplifts faster! From the sublime to toe ...& such.Thanx Y'all

John's Gospel: First Chapter Verse 17 (Usually we write Jn 1:17) "For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." If & when you fully grasp these FACTS of the Bible in these 14 words, you would become a knowledgable and growing Christian. Great summary of Old and New Testaments, in my opinion.... Yggdrasill & Ymir, anyone? Not tea/coffee - our Roots & Papa-Creator-Giant

GODS AND MYTHS OF EUROPE (Yggdrasill the World Tree & Ymir the Giant ‘Creator.’) An Icelandic scholar Snorri Sturluson, famed for his scholarly account of the gods gave us the book, PROSE EDDA. Unfortunately, you may not contact this author, even by email: he wrote his account in Europe’s early Christian era, about 1220. He wrote at a time when Christianity was becoming dominant among medieval Europeans, and Snorri anticipated a destruction of all the worlds, as in the account of Northern... Thanksgiving was memorable, too, for 'MANSFIELD PARK' 2 versions 1999;2007

William Makepeace Thackeray, Charles Dickens, and Jane Austen are my trio of Victorian novelists. I really can't make up my mind who is my favorite. However, Jane Austen died at the youthful age of 41, in July 1817. The novel, MANSFIELD PARK, written about 1806 has an unusual heroine: a poor relative of the Bertrams, where she (Fanny Price) is invited to live after her mom (in Portsmouth) could not prevent her alcoholic father from making baby after baby. My daughters liked the 2007 version of... Sign in to see full entry.

Fidel is dead at 90.Whose victory? Capitalism,Cuban-Socialism,Obama-ism, Or

The LORD God, who makes and unmakes governments and destinies. Today, being the equivalent of the Sabbath for Christians, it is good to pay respects where it is due. No matter how reviled a leader may be, his fight against racism and FOR free education and health care requires big-heartedness on our part. RIP, Fidel. INRI. Fidel does mean "faithful," and Fidel Castro did respect the Papacy, having met with at least two Popes (maybe three). That is out of respect, too, for the people (EVERYWHERE)... Fussing & Cussing. Is that r personality type? Whats so wrong about fussing?

One may join the word "fussy," with "woman." We may be hearing, "Martha, Martha!" in our heads. There is some justification for connecting "fussy" and "women," but a Christian's sense of fairness will recall for us that women and men have the sin nature; we all fall short of the glory and standards God expects ( Romans 8: 23 ). So, women and men both can be the fussing-cussing kind. Yet, the Book of Proverbs does use synonyms of "fussy" and "complaining" to contrast a "virtuous woman" with one... Sign in to see full entry.

OK, let's be serious now:Quotes on Prayer.Shabbat Shalom to Jewish siblings

Jean Ingelow quote: "I have lived to thank God that all my prayers have not been answered." Seneca [Ancient Roman thinker]: "Nothing costs so much as what is bought by prayers." Kierkegaard [Danish "liberal" Theologian]: "Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who prays." 'Preach the Happy God's Gospel'-J.Prince.Transition in Luke15 teaches lot$:

This day's reading in my Bible, once more, emphasizes that we have to give up some valued aspects of life, for the BEST we gain in Jesus. Many crowds wanted healing & material benefits (including bread; fish) they received from Jesus. When He discerned the nature of each crowd, Jesus responded in peculiar ways. In Luke 14:25-26, Jesus surprises readers by this contrast: " Now great crowds accompanied Him, and He turned and said to them, 'If anyone comes to me & does not hate his own father and... Is loyalty to one's country of birth a FINE thing? Anibanerjee is Patriotic

POEM: Patriotic to Poor INDIA Mom loved India; Dad didn't care for it... Instead he spoke of London all the time! He cared nothing for America either... It was so confusing to me...
