Just Turn Your Head

Each day I turn my head a different direction to see what I can see. I don't have to turn it very far for the picture to change considerably. I drove to the grocery mart today--took the long way around. Many times I wished that I could stop and photograph, but... the traffic would not allow it.... Sign in to see full entry.

Sad Day Beauty

There is beauty even on sad days. The sun rises, and the sun sets, and all things in between, whether good or bad, make our being what it is. We give thanks and praise the Lord, or we moan and groan and complain. We smile or we frown, we laugh or we cry, we worry or we sing, but the day goes on from... Sign in to see full entry.

Zip-line Fun At Any Age

Don't you just love this. I call it Super Woman...and she really is. A life long friend who lived on our block when we were little girls and who is still a pack of fun at age 75. This is at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival and she is riding on a zip-line. You wouldn't get me on one of those... Sign in to see full entry.

A Gift From The Son

Son #3 called before noon to say that he and Grandson Phil would be over for a visit in a little bit. When I finally got the knock on the door it was after 8:00 p.m. I was beginning to get worried. He laughed about that. He had a gift for me and that was the reason he had taken so long. He always... Sign in to see full entry.

At Hand

Every day it's more lovely. The colors change daily, deepen, darken, cover more area. Soon there won't be a green leaf to be found on my favorite tree. I don't have to go anywhere to see this lovely tree, It's right outside my windows. Sign in to see full entry.

Never

I never tire, whether break of day, or at evening's set of sun, to cross the road where geese waddle from lake to new-mown grass and back, where deer stand frozen when dark sets in, and drivers can see naught but flash of eyes lit by headlamps, often much too late. I never tire, of watching... Sign in to see full entry.

Life In A Tiny Town

"Strange that so few come to the woods to see how the pine lives and grows and spires, lifting its evergreen arms to the light -- to see its perfect success." ~ Henry David Thoreau This very tall pine with it's straight tall trunk and whorls of smaller lateral branches reaches high above the old two... As I Go

Just running around my neighborhood there is much to look at and enjoy this time of year. The skies were/are overcast, dark and dreary, and a fine mist is/was coming down at times. I was in the parking lot of my bank when I took this. Straight across and behind the trees is my pharmacy where I get... Sign in to see full entry.

Against The Sky

It soon will be time for me to bring my big plants back inside. It's getting colder at night now. That's kind of a drag, you know. The pots are so heavy and the plants so big, and they take up so much room inside. But, Son #1 loves anything living and he won't let me get rid of them. I tried to... Sign in to see full entry.
