Crystal Ball

Fulton is a dusky town where secrets pass like upturned kelp during low tide. Gwen and her sister were raised in a house in this sleepy little town. Above the fireplace was perched a magnificent crystal ball. During her teens her mom would hold séances using crystal balls and home made Ouija boards.... Sign in to see full entry.

Black Orb Rising

The hot southern sun blazed and toasted the day into a muggy night. When I heard the heavy knock on the fishing cabin door, I quickly kicked the beer cans away and wiped the cookie crumbs off my t-shirt. It was Scott at the door. Can’t a person call first? This was a pet peeve that gets under my... Sign in to see full entry.

Fulton Beach Ghost Story

Overlooking Aransas bay, the old house on the hill had seen better days. The Carlton House was said to be haunted and it looked the part. A friend of mine was renting it and let me stay there while I was in between jobs. It was late at night and I decided to sit in the rickety porch swing mounted... Sign in to see full entry.

The Haunting of Fiddler's Island

The river crept along, slack and dark; and it's mouth, opening secretively into the Gulf, was already obscured by twilight. Slowly the man rowed his boat into the current, pulling against it just enough to keep station on the point marking river's end. He took care to dip his oars noiselessly, for... Ghost Ships

*A Weird Blue Light* Late one night in October, 1864, a Confederate blockade runner, under the cover of fog, slipped by some Union gunboats at the entrance to Galveston Bay in Texas and made it safely to port with its cargo of food and other necessities. Louis Billings, the master of the small... Sign in to see full entry.

Mass Migration of Stingrays

I received a great email from my friend Jayne and would like to share it with you. Looking like giant leaves floating in the sea thousands of Golden Rays are seen here gathering off the coast of Mexico. The spectacular scene was captured as the magnificent creatures made one of their biannual mass... Sign in to see full entry.
