David!!!! That is so unbelievably exciting! No wonder the chair was so cheap...the guy obviously wanted to unload the ghost... But how did you know the aparition was malignant? it could have been a benevolent ghost that meant you no harm... Poor displaced soul... This makes for a wonderful short story... The ghost of the king's chair... Ah, it fires up the imagination :-) perhaps it was that of a great paintor and he was sketching your sweetie... or both of you :-) In any case it is an amazing story .
