Dawn dreams

Some early mornings I dream you while walking under dying stars through a deafened path of absence, your feet covered with dust and moist with dew. You come near... so near I can see your empty half and know I belong there, and I reach to touch your heart, but then I remember the echoes of the night, the echoes from the dreams that I forgot when I buried my wings so long ago to become the soil where another's dreams could grow.
