Kisses and Hugs

Kisses and Hugs When the party is done Only ghostly memories remain Of feasts and songs Bodies dancing along A vapor pathway to the past With approaching future I come behind you To nuzzle softly into your hair My hands and arms slowly surrounding With a kiss on your cheek to ask: May I have the... letter to the editor in local rag’s next issue

Normally, I try to avoid sending letters to the editor within the state because I have been ignored whenever I have submitted anything to the major dailies in New Jersey. They are just going to print whoever fits their editorial paradigm of the world, which excludes anybody like myself who uses... Sign in to see full entry.

On An Internet Radio Show

The original plan was for me to take a long late lunch, head home and call in for my internet radio show interview there. However, craziness at work squelched that and instead I was using my cell phone to call in and using my car as a studio. I suppose it went well, notwithstanding. The host for the... Reply to an email making the rounds

I have been sent, once again, what is purported to be eleven rules of life from a graduation speech by Bill Gates. Having neither the time nor the inclination to research its source, I can only say that it is likely to have come from Mr. Gates since it provides, similar to most of what comes from... Response to a NYT article blog that is not showing up

I wrote the following in response to an article on the New York Times website and other posted responses. I will probably rework this into something that the newspapers won't print. You see, I believe that we should not place any requirements or restrictions on immigration because doing so calls into question the legality of our being here. Anyone whose ancestors or who themselves... Sign in to see full entry.

Suggestions for New Jersey State Slogan

A local radio show reported that a powerful state legislator was trying to get "A Home for All Seasons" as the New Jersey state slogan. The host of the show suggested "You Can't Make This Stuff Up". Here are a few other suggestions: "The Land of Diners: New Jersey Will Fork You Over" "We Elect 'Em.... Sign in to see full entry.

Rapid Times

Rapid Times The rapids of time A raft for me alone I thought My little ones Were safe on shore But their sideway glance At other speeding craft Brings wonder those are not upstream They were just in third grade Yes, I nod And so were you Copyright © 2008 by C. P. Klapper Sign in to see full entry.

Loser

Loser I am nobody. Nobody is me. I am paid nothing. I work for free. There is nothing left At the end of the day, Nothing but dust Which you kick Out of the way, Bereft of ashes Of the life that never was. Dust I was. I have returned Without life Or remembrance.
