I was so out of breath from trying to talk to everyone, that by the time it came to open presents I was panting like a dog. So my mom comes over and cleans out my kitty's cat box. I thank her and she goes on her merry way. Then throughout the day and all through the night, the cat won't leave me alone. So I'm lying in bed trying to fall asleep and I smell fire. It's a burning wood kind of smell which is strong enough to pull me out of bed and look outside the window. Work kept me pretty busy, so I wasn't all that sad until I went to his grave. I like to think of him as still being here with me, watching over me, and making sure my life runs a little smoother. I hope this doesn't mean my imagination well is all dried up. To be fair I haven't had much time and I feel so so lazy. But it's rare for me not to write a poem here and there. It's January, the anniversary of my brother's death. Like Heath he was in his twenties. And like Heath he left behind a little girl. My right foot has swollen up so big I can't put my shoes on anymore. And the swelling is spreading up my leg day by day. It keeps getting worse. I know pregnant women get Edema but this is crazy. Any suggestions? Sign in to see full entry.
