So What About Evolution?

I am still wondering what the problem is between the theory of evolution and the belief in creation. For one thing, "the theory of evolution" is a "theory." A theory is NOT reality; it is an explanation about what we call "reality" (which is also a vague term, if you think about it). "Belief in... Sign in to see full entry.

Benzinha's Comment

Benzinha comments on one of my posts about our parish's festivities last January 16, 2005. She writes You Filipinos, Friarcito, appear to be a very celebratory group!! We have many holidays and ignore most of them. You all dress up, play music, dance and decorate the squares!! What a lovely culture... Sign in to see full entry.

I Stand Corrected

Below is an interchange between me and a reader of one of my blogs. Comment: No one I talk to outside this place even knows what blogging is... My Response: Depends on where you live your life offline, I guess. Tell you what, when I preach on Sundays and I mention something that I've read from a... Sign in to see full entry.

Happy New Year!

When tragedy strikes, the best in humanity comes out. As the tsunami death toll rises, we see people becoming generous and unselfishness. True there is still pain, a lot of tears and many reasons to fear. But there are a lot more reasons to hold onto the conviction that Our Lord is the Lord of... Sign in to see full entry.

I and Jesus

A blog by word.smith just caught my attention. It is about the tunnel vision of certain Christians who seem to think that the I-Jesus relationship is the be-all of Christianity. While I agree with word.smith, I'd also like to add that whoever thinks that an I-Jesus spirituality is the goal of... Sign in to see full entry.

A Psychologist Writes About Weblogs

John Grohol, Web psychologist writes this about weblogs: (D)o blogs suddenly define the medium of Web publishing? No, they do not. There are, and will remain to be, millions upon millions of Web sites which never incorporate blogging into what they do, nor have the need. With an unlimited online... Sign in to see full entry.

What Do You Think Of This?

Does anyone have the right to do this to anyone even to oneself? This is obviously computer generated and done in the spirit of "fun." But it is disgusting, don't you think? Sign in to see full entry.

They Don't See What I See

Some months ago, I read a blog by sassy_ass about how her family members don't understand what she does with the computer. Tonight, I found a blog by littlemspickles about how her friends don't understand what blogging is all about. The same thing happens to me. The other members in my community... The Internet Is Bad?

"The internet is full of bad things. It causes you to sin." Aw c'mon! The guy who said that in an open forum on the internet may have been brainwashed by these "Christian" cults. Reduction after all is one of their hallmarks. After reducting reality to the Bible, these cults make their adherents... Sign in to see full entry.

Of Translations and Babelfish

Someone here has just tried to prove in a series of blogs that the Scriptures is downright ludicrous by the process by which it has been translated. The author was of course assuming that by using Babelfish on a random paragraph, one can show that a translated work may -- in the different languages... Sign in to see full entry.
