I Heard A Song In My Neighbor's Garden

I visited my neighbor and his wife. As they showed me to the back of the house I saw a beautiful, well cared food and farming area in the garden. My name was surprised when I told him there was a new song coming from his garden. I immediately grabbed my flute from its case as I had carried it along.... Sign in to see full entry.

Does Music Determines The Culture of The Day?

I asked this question two days ago, Is it music which determines the culture of the day or vice a versa? If human behaviors, attitudes and values are derived from the music of the day then how can we safe guard our minds from the filtration of bad influences, or bad music? Some persons may say that... Music On My Mind

(The above is a picture of the waist drum from Iraq) I have realized that every single week there is a song or music in my mind. Without even trying there always seem to be a song in my subconscious. I prepare a choir every week, but that’s not the song I am talking about. There just always seem to... Sign in to see full entry.

I Just don't Rehearse...Am I a bad musician?

The earnings of the retail distributors, channel distributors, actors and performers are much greater than that of the composers and creators of an idea, a song, a product or a movie. Last weekend, a farmer... Sign in to see full entry.

Musicians I Know

I have noticed quite a few musicians I know get so excited over the "Fattening" of chords. I was at church yesterday, and I raised a new song. Afterwards my bass player spent the rest of the service trying to make the song sound "fatter" or fuller...lol! As a Director of Music I find that these... Sign in to see full entry.

I Wish Everyone Knew How To Play an Instrument

I have been playing music since age 4 and music has taught me quite a great deal in both my professional and personal life. I also wish everyone knew just how to play a musical instrument. Last Monday I visited my doctor and he told me he had only two regrets in life. First of all, he wished he had... Sign in to see full entry.

Dancer For Money

A few days ago my co-workers and I were working late and in the faint silence of the room you could hear someone's radio playing one of Tina Turner's tune, "Private Dancer, Dancer for money". I didn't know the music had made such a remarkable impression on my mind until later. I left work fully... Sign in to see full entry.
