The right word or the almost right word.

I think I gravitate toward writing shorter peices because of picking the right word. I am amazed by novels that read like poetry in that every word is the perfect word for it's spot in the story. This quote is so true...

I wish, as a writer, that it was...

...always possible to hold on to this bit of wisdom. Why is it so easy to get blocked or to doubt that you are really a writer.
