Gnostics and Wisdom
Sophia-- a pretty name... the name given in Gnostics writings to the personification of the female principle of divine Wisdom: the Wisdom of Insight, according to the Secret Book of John, one of the Gnostic texts. Sophia messed up. She drew on aspects of her own being--Invisible Spirit and Foreknowledge--to create offspring of herself, without approval of the One, or recourse to her partner.
